Brian Eugene Fraker
1974—2024
Brian Eugene Fraker, 50, passed from this life surrounded by loving family members Wednesday, Jan. 24, 2024, at Pikeville Medical Center in Pikeville.
Born Feb. 4, 1973, in Columbus, Ohio, he was the youngest son of the late William Fraker and Delphia (Newsome) Fraker. He is preceded in death by maternal grandparents, Floyd and Louise (Rose) Newsome of Kermit and paternal grandparents, William and Nancy Fraker of Marysville, Ohio, and Florence (Reeves) Fraker; and many aunts and uncles.
Brian is survived by his wife, Rose Fraker of Columbus, Ohio; two sons, Brian and Evan; and three siblings, Betty Jean (Bill) Montgomery of Somerset, William Floyd “Will or Billy” (Tami-Remly) Fraker of Pataskala, Ohio, and Michael Allen Fraker of Somerset. He is also survived by a dear aunt, Jewell Sammons, Kermit, who was like a mother to him, and first cousin, Denise Sammons, Kermit, who was like a sister to him. He also has many special nieces, nephews, aunts, cousins and special friends who will miss him in Kentucky, West Virginia and Ohio, as well as his “porch party” crew from Kermit.
Besides his sons, little Brian and Evan, Brian’s biggest accomplishment in life was when he committed his life to the Lord on Aug. 29, 2021, in the presence of his sweet first cousin Angela Crigger. He was baptized Sept. 5, 2021, in the presence of his Uncle Lloyd Brewer and many others in his first cousin Annetta Crigger’s front yard in a swimming pool. The weather did not cooperate that morning for a baptism in the river.
Brian was an avid Dallas Cowboys fan and never missed a game. His brother Mike is an avid Washington Commanders fan. This made for interesting times when those two teams played against each other, and Brian and Mike watched the game together. Brian and Mike grew up playing cowboys and Indians, and this friendly rivalry also bled over into their adult lives. They even made up their own language and names for each other, with one being Kottie and the other Scottie. Only they knew their code language, and we never figured out how they came up with those names.
Funeral services will be conducted at noon Saturday, Feb. 3, 2024, at the Callaham Funeral Home in Warfield, with Robbie May officiating. Burial will follow at the Newsome Ridge Family Cemetery in Naugatuck. Visitation will be after 6 p.m. Feb. 2 at the funeral home. Arrangements are under the direction of the Callaham Funeral Home, Inez.
