WILLIAMSON, W.Va. — Martin County Lady Cardinals dominated Tug Valley 71-36 in a road game Jan. 3.
The Lady Cards led from the opening tip and were up 16-10 at the end of the first quarter.
Martin County added distance in the second quarter. Senior Laken Williams fired in 13 points and sophomore Chloe May scored her third 3-pointer for a 42-22 lead at halftime.
Martin County maintained the momentum throughout the second half for the win.
Williams led Martin County with a game-high 22 points, Katie Marcum finished with 11, May tallied nine, Alyssa Allen scored eight, Maci Maynard chipped in six, Brooke Marcum netted five, Kennadi Mollett contributed three and Candace Spaulding added two.
Haven Deskins led Tug Valley with 13 points, Bailee Hall finished with 12, Brooke Spaulding added four, Katelynn Richardson, Maria Pilkins and Selicity Baisden each contributed two, and Riley Porter chipped in one.
