Shirley (Johnson) Moore

1954—2023

Shirley Moore, 69, of Tomahawk, passed away Dec. 19, 2023, at UK Medical Center in Lexington.

Born Aug. 8, 1954, in Logan, West Virginia, she was the daughter of the late Robert and Geneva Johnson.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by three sisters, Glendine Rainwater, Norma Mahon and Josephine Johnson; three brothers-in-law, Arnold B. McCoy, Chester Moore and Lenzie Moore; and two sisters-in-law, Louise Johnson and Brenda Johnson.

Shirley is survived by her loving husband, who always went above and beyond for her, Allen Moore; three sons, Jeremy (Marranda) Moore of Tomahawk, KJ Litton and Remington Litton, both of McDowell; one daughter, Megan (Mason) Jude of Tomahawk; four brothers, James Johnson, Harold Johnson and Glen (Sharon) Johnson, all of Tomahawk, and David (Linda) Johnson of Louisa; three sisters, Wanda McCoy and Hester Johnson, both of Tomahawk, and Lisa (Terry) Howell of McDowell; and several brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Thomas Rainwater, Boone Mahon, Phyllis and Leroy Mills, Oscar and Ellen Moore, and Myrtle and Calvin Maynard. She is also survived by four grandchildren, Ryan Moore, Shawn Moore, Kaitlynn Moore and Braxten Jude, a special nephew who was like a son, Kevin Litton of Tomahawk, and special neighbors, Tim and Katie McCoy.

Funeral services were conducted Saturday, Dec. 23, 2023, at Vineyard United Baptist Church, with Richard “Doc” Maynard and David Bowen officiating. Burial was at the Johnson Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Crum Funeral Home of Inez.
