Charles Fred Galer

1944—2023

Charles Fred Galer, 79, of Inez, passed away Dec. 19, 2023, at Highlands Appalachian Regional Hospital in Prestonsburg.

Born March 11, 1944, in Oklahoma, he was the son of the late Charles Rockwell Galer and Majel December Neal Mitchell. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by one son, Gabriel Coy Galer.

Survivors include his wife, Jackie Galer; three sons, Tyler (Amanda) Galer of Ludlow and Constant (Kelly) Galer and Nathan Galer, both of Findlay, Ohio; and one daughter, Emily Mills of Louisville. He is also survived by four grandchildren, Kyle Galer, Cadence Galer, Elliot Galer and Avlynn Galer.

Fred was a proud veteran of the United States Navy.

Funeral services were conducted Tuesday, Dec. 26, 2023, in the chapel of Crum Funeral Home, Inez, with Garrett Mills officiating. Burial was at the Mills Family Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of the Crum Funeral Home of Inez.
