CITIZEN STAFF REPORT
WARFIELD — Cash Express led a successful donation drive, delivering clothing, shoes, coats and toys to Martin County Middle School and its 21st Century after-school program. This charitable act took place Dec. 15 at MCMS in Warfield.
The 20th Annual Cash Express Toy & Coat Drive resulted in the donation of approximately 18 large bags filled with clothes, shoes and coats, and five boxes of toys.
The initiative was spearheaded by Inez Cash Express manager Ntoshia Baisden and assistant manager Hannah Caldwell, who personally delivered the items to the school.
The drive saw contributions from various community members and organizations. C&M Sales contributed one box of toys, and a significant portion of the donations came from the Inez Church of God and generous Cash Express customers.
In addition to the physical donations, Baisden, Caldwell and their team raised $1,170. They gathered this sum through various fundraising activities, including bake sales, stocking purchases, collecting customers’ loose change at Cash Express and other generous donations.
Baisden expressed heartfelt gratitude: “We are beyond thankful for how awesome this community came together to make Christmas a bit brighter for these little Martin County babies,” she said.
Her message extended beyond the season’s giving, as she wished everyone a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year on behalf of Cash Express.
