Mary Ellen Lewis

1960—2023

Mary Ellen Lewis Scott, 63, of Pilgrim, passed away at her home Sunday, Dec. 17, 2023.

Born July 20, 1960, in Johnson County, she was the daughter of the late Paul and Martha Lewis.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by one brother, Jody Lewis.

Mary is survived by her husband, William Scott; children, Rosie (Mike) Housinger of Lowmansville and Amanda (Josh) Newsome and Herald Robert (Veronica Mollett) Johnson, both of Inez; nine grandchildren, Bethany Johnson, Kayla Johnson, Alexandria Mills, Raylan Johnson, Courtney Shepard, Gabe Frazier, Tyler Housinger, Brady Mahon and Brianna Adkins; and two great-grandchildren, Skyler Newsome and Kennedy Shepard. She is also survived by two siblings, Paul Lewis and Liz Taylor, both of Virginia.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 20, 2023 at the Callaham Funeral Home in Inez. Burial will follow at the Scotty Robinson in Pilgrim. Arrangements are under the direction of the Callaham Funeral Home.
