Lady Panthers drop two games on the road

HINTON, W.Va. — It was a rough road trip for the Lady Panthers of Tug Valley as they dropped a pair of games in the 34th annual Rogers Oil Classic at Summers County High School in Hinton.

On Friday, TVHS lost a close game to Braxton County 45-39.

Katelyn Richardson led the Lady Panthers with 11 points, while Bailee Hall scored nine and Mindi Darnell eight.

Erin Nicholson led Braxton County with 21.

Mercer Christian defeated Tug Valley 63-29 in the consolation game Saturday night.

Hall, who was named to the all-tournament team, led TVHS with 14 points.

Mercer County had three players in double digits led by Ella Betts with 21.

Summers County defeated Braxton County 53-32 to win the tournament.

Coach Seth Ooten’s team is scheduled to host Westside Dec. 21 and East Fairmont Dec. 22.
