INEZ — The Martin County High School Cheerleaders are the Mountain Citizen Players of the Week.

While competition cheer is hard and is not be for everyone, it is for this Cardinal cheer squad. These girls competed Saturday in the KHSAA Cheer State Championships at George Rogers Clark High School and brought home fifth place in the All-Girls Super Division.

Last month they delivered a flawless performance to claim the All-Girls Super Division Region 8 championship in Williamsburg.

The Super Division requires a minimum of 24 and maximum of 30 team members.

The cheer squad is coached by Nikki Moore and Jackie Maynard, with former Marshall University and Sheldon Clark High School cheerleader Ernay Adams providing top-notch choreography services.
