Margaret Jude
1938—2023

Margaret Jude, 85, of Louisa, passed away at her home Thursday, Dec. 7, 2023 after an extended illness.

Born Feb. 11, 1938, on Peter Cave Branch in Laura, she was the daughter of the late Wade and Virgie Blackburn.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband of 39 years, Robert Jude; siblings, Elias Blackburn, John Blackburn, Jasper Blackburn, Burgess Blackburn and Ida Blackburn; and her children, Betty Mae Berry, Larry Jude, Barbara Priscilla Jude, Brenda Gail Jude and Terry Douglas Jude.

Margaret is survived by her daughters, Diana Sue Stevens, Shirley Jean Jude, Patsy Kay Jude, Sheila Gwen Erwin and Bobbi Jo Jude; 15 grandchildren; and 16 greatgrandchildren. She is also survived by four siblings, Opal Sartin, Vadis Blackburn, Nokie Stacy and Archie Blackburn.

Margaret was a homemaker, mother, mamaw and friend to everyone who knew her and lived every day to the fullest. She enjoyed gardening and flowers with springtime being her favorite time of the year. She loved it when the fruit trees bloomed and the warm days so she could sit on the porch and look at God’s creation.

Margaret was a woman of God’s faith and a member of Sydney Old Regular Baptist Church.

The family would like to thank Dr. Don Chaffin, Community Hospice and all the caregivers for their support, kindness, love and prayers during this difficult time.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Sunday, Dec. 10, 2023, at the Sydney Old Regular Baptist Church in Pilgrim, with Tom Dials and Dewey Jude officiating. Burial will follow at the Muncy Cemetery where she will be laid to rest beside her late husband and children. Friends may visit the church on Saturday. Arrangements are under the direction of the Callaham Funeral Home, Inez.
