Luke Hale, the shooting guard for the Martin County Cardinals, is the Mountain Citizen Player of the Week.
This recognition comes on the heels of Hale’s exceptional performance in the scrimmage game against the reigning West Virginia Class 2A champion Chapmanville in the Zip Zone Tip-Off Classic held Saturday at Martin County High School.
Hale’s standout performance of 38 points was instrumental in Martin County’s victory over Chapmanville.
A key player in the Cardinals’ successful season last year, Hale played a key role in clinching both the 15th Region All “A” and the KHSAA 15th Region titles. In the previous season, Hale averaged 20.3 points per game. His shooting accuracy was remarkable, with a 46.4% field goal percentage, a 38.4% success rate from beyond the arc, and 80.9% free-throw accuracy. Hale also averaged five rebounds per game.
As the Cardinals gear up for the regular season, Hale’s start promises an exciting season.
