INEZ — Martin County tennis, under the leadership of Coach Josh Penix, is celebrating a victorious week as they announce their successful application for “Raise a Racquet” funding.

The funding, awarded by the charitable foundation of the same name, is a welcome boost for the Cardinals. The team purchased tennis balls to last all season and a training cart.

The United States Tennis Association’s Kentucky Endowment Fund, doing business as the Raise a Racquet Foundation, raises and distributes funds to benefit tennis players, facilities and programs throughout Kentucky. The organization is based in Kentucky.
