BRADSHAW, W.Va. — The Tug Valley Panthers improved to 5-1 on the season with an impressive 48-0 road win over the River View Raiders Friday night.
Tug Valley led 13-0 after the first quarter and 34-0 at halftime. They tacked on seven more points in each of the final two quarters to cruise to the easy win.
Sophomore running back Bryson Elia accounted for 30 points for Tug Valley. The speedy back rushed for 140 yards and three touchdowns. HE caught two passes for 60 yards and a TD and had an interception that he returned for another score.
Junior back Austin Smith and freshman wideout Cameron Slone also scored TDs for the Panthers. Aiden Bosserman kicked five extra points.
On defense, senior Buddy Marcum had eight tackles including a sack; Dakoda Walker also had eight stops; Smith had six tackles; Michael Jarvis had five tackles; Mike Curtis had a sack for TVHS.
Coach Hady Ford and his staff will prepare the team now to head to Mount View this week.
“It was good to get our first shutout of the season,” said Ford.
“We just need to continue to improve each week, stay focused on the next game and don’t get caught looking ahead,” Ford added. “ I am just proud of our guys and the improvements we’ve made throughout the year. We still got some work to do, but we’re moving in the right direction.”
