Martin County Arrest Report

INEZ — Martin County Sheriff John Kirk’s Office reported the following arrests:

Matthew Moore

Matthew Moore, 39, of Pilgrim, was arrested Monday on Pigeon Roost Road for second-degree criminal trespass, menacing and resisting arrest. Constable Bradford Preece made the arrest.

Crystal Smith

Crystal Smith, 37, of Sassafras, was arrested Monday at the White Oak Rehabilitation Center in Inez on a bench warrant for Knott District Court. Deputy Kidd made the arrest.

Dennis Maynard

Dennis Maynard, 38, of Lovely, was arrested Saturday on Little Peter Cave Road in Lovely for second-degree assault.

Law enforcement responded to a 911 call from a female stating Maynard threatened to cut her husband with a knife and had hit her husband with a stick on Little Peter Cave Road in Lovely.

Sheriff Kirk reports officers found David Grace bleeding from the head.

According to the police report, Maynard used a 2×2 wooden board with an embedded nail to assault Grace in Grace’s driveway. Grace told police that he came home and caught Maynard on his property even though he had previously told Maynard not to be on his property—that Maynard had stolen from him.

Maynard told police he believed Grace was trying to hurt him.

The police report states Maynard had a pocket knife when arrested and had been drinking alcohol.

Claudetta Lynn Mills, 38, of Tomahawk, was charged Saturday on Tomahawk Road with public intoxication controlled substance, theft by unlawful taking or disposition all others under $500, prescription controlled substance not in original container, and assault, fourth degree (minor injury).

Sheriff Kirk was dispatched to an altercation on Tomahawk Road where a daughter had attacked her mother, hit her and stole her pills. When the sheriff arrived, Mills was impaired, lying under a porch eating pills and admitted to smoking meth. The police report states Mills stole Neurontin and Suboxone pills from her mother and had those scattered on the ground and in a makeup bag. According to police, Mills hit her mother, busting her nose. Responders transported Mills to a hospital.

Aleigha Roop

Aleigha Roop, 24, of Bevinsville, was arrested Thursday at Serenity House in Inez on a bench warrant out of Floyd County. Kidd made the arrest.

Gwyan Horn

Gwyan Horn, 70, of Inez, was arrested Thursday on Dry Fork in Inez for second-degree terroristic threatening. Deputy Kidd reports Horn went to Eden Elementary School, threatening employees during the school dropoff time.

Asiaa Meeks, 26, of Louisa, was arrested Sept. 12 at the Big Sandy Regional Detention Center on a warrant for bail jumping. Kidd served the warrant.

James Carter

James Carter, 60, of Warfield, was arrested Sept. 6 at Family Dollar in Warfield for alcohol intoxication. Deputy Kidd reports Carter was sitting on the sidewalk drinking from an open pint of vodka, had slurred speech and had trouble standing.
