James Cecil Messer

James Cecil Messer, 42, of Kermit, West Virginia, passed away at his home Thursday, Sept. 14, 2023.

Born Sept. 10, 1981, in Cleveland, Ohio, he was the son of the late Shirley Frye Messer and Johnnie Messer.

James is survived by his son, James Dalton Messer of Kermit; his little sidekick, Alaina Reese Brewer; and two siblings, Johnnie (Samantha) Messer of Kermit and Kayla (Josh) Moore of Wayne.

Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 20, 2023, at the Old Jennies Creek United Baptist Church in Kermit. Burial will follow at the Carter & Messer Cemetery. Friends may visit the church Monday and after 4 p.m. and Tuesday. Arrangements are under the direction of the Callaham Funeral Home, Inez.
