Addiction Recovery Care named to Newsweek’s list of America’s Best Addiction Treatment Centers

LOUISA — Addiction Recovery Care (ARC) made Newsweek’s list of America’s Best Addiction Treatment Centers for the third consecutive year. Two of ARC’s residential treatment centers for women, Karen’s Place Maternity Center and Beth’s Blessing, made the list.

The America’s Best Addiction Treatment Centers 2023 list highlights the nation’s top facilities based on quality of service, reputation and accreditation relative to in-state competition. The survey included facilities in the 25 states with the highest number of addiction treatment centers, according to the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA). The evaluation process comprised three steps:

Recommendations from Peers: Over 4,000 medical professionals (therapists, counselors, medical doctors) and managers/administrators who work in addiction treatment facilities were invited to an online survey. Recommendations for their employer were not allowed.

Quality Score: Participants were also asked to rank the quality dimensions influencing rehabilitation facilities’ quality.

Accreditation Score: Accreditation data on addiction treatment centers.

“We are honored to be recognized as a top addiction treatment provider, not just in Kentucky, but nationwide,” said Tim Robinson, CEO and founder of ARC. “ARC is committed to delivering only the highest quality care for our clients and giving them the very best chance at long-term recovery from substance use disorders.”

Karen’s Place Maternity Center (KPMC), located in Ashland, Kentucky, treats pregnant and postpartum women with substance use disorders. KPMC is on the King’s Daughters Medical Center campus, welcoming up to 21 mothers and expectant mothers at a time. While at KPMC, mothers receive individual counseling and weekly recovery small group and group therapy sessions. State-certified case managers work with each client.

Women can stay for up to three months postpartum to ensure comprehensive care during this critical time. More than 270 babies have been born at KPMC over the last four years.

Named for a Clay County native who found recovery and later died in a crash involving a drunken driver, Beth’s Blessing is located in Annville. The residential facility, which sits atop the Appalachian Mountains and overlooks Eastern Kentucky. It offers client assessment and evaluation, medical stabilization, group therapy, educational programming, integrated mental health services for co-occurring disorders, wellness activities and more for women diagnosed with substance use disorders.

“These rankings reflect the expertise of our incredible employees and their commitment to helping those seeking recovery,” added Robinson. “We hope this recognition will give prospective clients and their loved ones peace of mind when they walk through the doors at Karen’s Place Maternity Center, Beth’s Blessing or any of our other programs throughout Kentucky.”

ARC operates more than 30 inpatient and residential programs across Kentucky. It is in the process of bringing its services to Ohio and Virginia.
