PAINTSVILLE — Martin County Middle School Cardinals tamed the Paintsville Tigers 38-14 in an exciting middle school football showdown Saturday at Paintsville High School football field.
Quarterback Bryson Dials put on a show completing 6 out of 7 passes for an impressive 185 yards throwing for two touchdowns. Dials also had three carries for 52 yards and a touchdown.
Running back Parker Maynard had 12 carries, racking up 142 yards and scoring two touchdowns.
Jeremy Bentley made his mark on the field with 10 carries, amassing an impressive 124 yards and scoring one touchdown.
Receiver Brayden Fannin caught three passes for a total of 85 yards and one touchdown. Chase Hinkle added to the aerial assault with two receptions covering 45 yards and a touchdown.
On the defensive side, Cole Jewell had six tackles, two for a loss. Bradley Hatfield had five defensive tackles, two for a loss.
With the win Coach Wesley Hager’s squad improved to an impressive 2-0 record.
