WARFIELD — Martin County Middle School basketball standout Maci Maynard has accepted an invitation to join the Kentucky Premier 15U Elite Youth Basketball League (EYBL) Nike team.

Kentucky Premier director David Tapley contacted MCMS coach Boo Newsome, extending the offer for Maynard to join the team for the 2024 AAU season.

Kentucky Premier operates out of Monticello. The program competes on a national level, providing a structured and professional environment that enhances player development and exposure to college coaches. With only 32 EYBL Nike teams nationwide, Maynard’s selection is an honor.

The 14-year-old eighth grader, who stands at 6-foot-4, expressed her enthusiasm.

“I’m excited for the opportunity to be a part of such an elite organization,” she said. “The EYBL circuit showcases a lot of good players, and I can’t wait to play against the best so I can improve my game.”

Maynard has been playing basketball since the fifth grade. She currently attends Hayes Training to prepare for the upcoming season.
