Robert ‘Robbie’ Brooks Meade
1953—2023

Robert “Robbie” Brooks Meade, 70, of Marrowbone in Kermit, West Virginia, went home to be with the Lord Aug. 17, 2023. He was surrounded by his loving family.

He was preceded in death by his father, Herbert D. Meade; mother, Effie Spaulding Meade; sister, Linda Sue Williamson; sister, Elizabeth “Snookie” Sartin; and son, Robert “Robbie” Lawrence Meade.

Robert is survived by daughters Rayna (Steven) Vance and Morgan Leffel (Chase) Crum. He was proud of all of his grandchildren, Whitney (Seth) Ooten, Kyle (Skyler) Sturgell, Dylan and Emma Meade, Cruz, Colt, Case and Cree Crum, Julian and Darian Vance; great-grandson James David; and special nephews and buddies, Ben Fletcher, Tommy (Tucker) and Gavin Fitzpatrick. Robert also leaves behind his siblings, Sharon (Marshall) Nix, Jan (Alex) Fletcher, Jeanetta (Don) Fitcher, Valerie (Boyd) Higgenbotham and Sheila Collins, and one brother, John (Joyce) Meade.

Robert loved singing and playing his guitar. He was also an avid hunter, loved telling stories and always made you laugh.

Robert was a carpenter but also a jack of all trades.

He had many special friends that he thought dearly of. He will be deeply missed but never forgotten.

The family wishes to send a special thanks to the mothers of his children, Brenda Meade and Macie Moore. Funeral services were conducted Saturday, Aug. 19, 2023, at God’s Little White Church on the Left Fork of Marrowbone Road, Kermit, with Bryant Meade and Gene Marcum officiating. Burial was in the Brewer-Fitzpatrick Cemetery on Marrowbone. Mullins Family Funeral Home is honored to serve the family.
