PILGRIM — Motorists in the Meathouse area should prepare for a temporary road closure this Saturday. The Kentucky Department of Transportation announced that a section of KY 1439 near Meathouse will be closed for cross-drain replacement work.

The affected location is 3.3 miles north of the Martin/Pike county line on KY 1439.

Construction crews will begin the replacement process at 8 a.m. and expect to wrap up the work by around 3 p.m. the same day.

Installing the new drain will require removing a section of the road. KYTC crews will cut across KY 1439, backfill the area and patch it up.

The road will reopen once the backfill material is settled and the concrete dries.

KYTC advises drivers to use an alternate route and pay attention to signage in the area.
