INEZ — Martin County Sheriff John Kirk’s Office reported the following arrests and citations:
Zachary Colton Delong, 27, of Debord, was arrested Friday on Setser Branch, Debord, on an indictment warrant and traffic charges. Deputy J.C. Kirk made the arrest.
Christopher S. Marcum, 48, of Inez, was arrested Friday in Inez on two indictment warrants. Deputy J.C. Kirk made the arrest.
Jason D. Mollett, 42, of Tomahawk, was arrested Friday on Rockhouse Road, Tomahawk, on a bench warrant for court and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon. Chief Deputy Chris Kidd arrived at the residence to serve an indictment warrant on Mollett when Mollett fled from the residence over the hill. Kidd reported that inside the open door, sitting on the arm of the chair, he saw a 9mm handgun. Mollett stated he knew the weapon was in his home, but it was not his.
Benjamin Farmer, 30, of Warfield, was arrested Friday at Dempsey Housing, Warfield, for third-degree possession of a controlled substance (drug unspecified). Deputy Kidd went to Dempsey Housing on an unrelated investigation. While there, the officer noticed several burnt suboxone strips and a needle and syringe containing a liquid substance in plain sight. According to the arrest report, Farmer stated he shoots up suboxone.
Crystal L. Sweeney, 41, and Delbert A. Sweeney, 43, of Inez, were arrested Friday on Rockcastle Road, Inez, for endangering the welfare of a minor. Deputy Kidd responded to a call for a welfare check on Sweeney and his family for possible abuse. Upon his arrival, Kidd noticed the property had a collapsed ceiling, no central air and the flooring was down to the subfloors. After obtaining consent to look around, he discovered open needles on the kitchen table, exposed electrical wiring coming from the living room wall and narcotic medication on the floor and accessible to the juveniles in the home. The back bedroom had an exposed hot breaker box with no cover. Several knives were lying on the floors in different rooms in the home. The deputy stated the condition of the home was a “substantial risk” to the 7- and 8-year-old children in the home. DSS removed the children for alternate placement.

Crystal D. Scott, 41, of Kermit, West Virginia, was arrested Thursday at Fast Lane Tobacco in Warfield on a warrant for court and buy/possession of drug paraphernalia. Sheriff Kirk reported that when he arrested Scott on a bench warrant, she had aluminum foil containing “some sort of drug” and a dope pipe in her pocket.
Asiaa Meeks, 26, of Lovely, was arrested Aug. 2 at Moore’s Trailer Court in Lovely on two warrants for court and first-degree bail jumping. Deputy Kidd made the arrest.
