Arrest Report

INEZ — Martin County Sheriff John Kirk’s Office reported the following arrests:

Ersel Crum Jr.

Ersel Crum Jr., 54, of Inez, was arrested Monday in Inez for menacing, resisting arrest and first-degree criminal trespassing.

A deputy was dispatched to Dalton Crum Road, where Crum allegedly was trying to enter the dwelling of his 72-year-old aunt. According to Sheriff Kirk, the aunt stated Crum was under the influence and had been told not to be there. The sheriff reported that Crum failed to cooperate with law enforcement, was combative, failed to show his hands and cursed at the officers. Ultimately officers had to take Crum to the ground to cuff him. The police report states Crum admitted he had done meth. Sheriff Kirk said Crum was “talking out of his head.”

Calvin Williams

Calvin Williams, 35, of Debord, was arrested Thursday at the United States Penitentiary Big Sandy on a fugitive from another state warrant. Chief Deputy Chris Kidd served the warrant.

April Davis

April Davis, 43, of Beauty, was arrested July 26 at Green Bottom Trailer Park in Inez for second-degree assault.

Deputy Kidd responded to a call about a man stabbed with a screwdriver and assaulted at a residence at Green Bottom in Inez. Upon arrival, the officer found the victim had a stab wound on his back. The victim advised the deputy the wound resulted from Davis stabbing him. Deputy Kidd obtained statements at the scene and located a screwdriver, which he took into evidence. According to Kidd, the homeowner stated Davis had no right to be at the home.

Ryan Blankenship

Ryan Blankenship, 25, of Beauty, was arrested July 26 at Green Bottom Trailer Park in Inez for menacing and fourth-degree assault (minor).

Deputy Kidd reported that Blankenship was at Green Bottom with a female when a fight started at a residence. According to the police report, Blankenship went up to the porch to help his girlfriend, then he and the male resident started fighting in the doorway on the porch. The police report states the homeowner advised the deputy that Blankenship had no right to be at the home.

John Richie

John Richie, 60, of Louisa, was arrested Friday on KY-645 near Horn’s BP in Inez for alcohol intoxication.

Deputy Kidd reported Richie was sitting beside the highway in a broken-down vehicle. Kidd approached to offer assistance and smelled a strong odor of alcoholic beverage from Richie. According to the police report, Richie stated, “I have only been drinking.” Kidd said Richie could not speak clearly, had slurred speech and could not perform any field sobriety test.
