Linda Lou Marcum
1946—2023

Linda Lou Marcum, 76, of Delaware, went to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, in the early afternoon of Thursday, July 27, 2023, at her residence, surrounded by her loving family.

Born Aug. 27, 1946, in Oppy, Kentucky, she was one of five daughters to the late Helen (West) Varney.

Linda attended and graduated from Kermit High School in West Virginia.

She met the love of her life, Archie Marcum Jr., and they married in 1965 and began a family. Linda was a loving wife, mother and homemaker. She was a member of the Pleasant Hill Freewill Baptist Church.

Her parents, husband Archie in 2002, and sisters Myrtle Peterson, Susan Patrick and Brenda Kay Patrick preceded her in death.

Left to cherish her memory are her son Keith Marcum; daughters Jamie Marcum and Shelia (Doug) Weatherby; grandkids Mallory Louann Weatherby, Keith Tyler (Laura) Marcum and Kolton (Paige) Marcum; step-granddaughters Dawn (Phil) MacLean, Danielle (Rob) Green and Denise Weatherby; great-grandchildren Ashton and Addilynne Marcum, Jason and Addy Coleman, Shelby Denny, Brenden and Jabob MacLean, Henry and Ellie Green, and Dallas Thompson; sister Teresa Varney-Garrabrant; sister-in-law Mart (Lon) Evans and Christine “Cricket” Marcum; special friend Phyllis Watts; nanny to Jennifer and Daniel.

Linda enjoyed being outside in her garden and enjoyed roses and daisies. She loved going to the beach and was lucky enough to make it to Hilton Head this past month. She was also a woman who read her bible every day.

Dr. Lucian Baker will officiate funeral services at 1 p.m., Wednesday, Aug. 2, 2023, at the Snyder-Rodman Funeral Center, 101 Valleyside Drive, Delaware, Ohio. Friends may call on the family from 11 a.m. until the time of the service. Burial will follow at Thompson Township Cemetery.
