Jewell takes helm at Warfield Elementary School

WARFIELD — Warfield Elementary School last week announced the appointment of Jessica Jewell, a veteran educator, as its new principal.

Jewell, who boasts 18 years of experience in the education sector, takes over from Brian Charles, who has been appointed principal at Martin County High School.

Jewell began her career in education as a teacher, serving 14 years in the Martin County School District at Eden Elementary School.

Jewell earned her Bachelor of Arts in Elementary Education from Alice Lloyd College. She continued her studies at Union College and earned her Master of Arts in Elementary Education. Jewell then pursued her Principal Licensure/ Supervisor of Instruction /DPP EdS degree at Asbury University.

On her appointment, Jewell said, “I am blessed beyond words and look forward to the opportunity to serve as principal of Warfield Elementary. I am ready to work hard as an instructional leader and build relationships with students, staff, parents and our community.”

Jewell went on to share her vision for the school’s future.

“I look forward to working as a team to continue to make Warfield a great place to learn and grow,” she said. “May God continue to keep his hedge of protection around our school and the community.”
