INEZ — The 2023-24 season will be the final opening at Martin County for nine senior football players.
Here’s a look at the players listed as seniors on the roster.
#23 Brock Messer, nickname Broccoli
Brock Messer lives in Inez and has played football for 13 years. He plays running back for the Martin County Cardinals.
Some of Brock’s favorite things are spending time with family and friends, hunting and fishing.
Brock plays multiple sports. He not only excels in football, but he is a standout wrestler and baseball player.
One of Brock’s pregame rituals is to stay off to himself to focus on the game and know exactly what he is supposed to do.
Brock plans to be a lineman after high school and hopes to be working 20 years from now.
He loves Texas Roadhouse and his favorite food is chicken wings.
Brock’s favorite place to visit is Panama City, Florida.
His favorite show is “Outer Banks.”
If Brock had to pick one superhero character, he would pick Spider-Man.
A fun fact about Brock is that he can play the guitar.
If he had $10 million, he would keep half and give the other half away.
Brock would like to give a shoutout to his family, coaches and everyone who has pushed him to be who he is today.
#50 Dawson Tate Crum
Tate Crum lives in Inez and has played football since fourth grade. He plays Center for the Martin County Cardinals. Tate received the All-District Offensive Lineman Award in 2022. He has also made a lot of noise this summer, caught the attention of college scouts, and received several college scholarship offers. He was also named to the honor roll.
Some of Tate’s hobbies include hunting, fishing and hanging out with friends. He is an active member of the Turkey Creek Nazarene Youth Group.
Tate sees himself completing college and hopefully coaching football in 20 years.
Tate’s pregame ritual is to pray for a safe game and a good win.
If Tate had to pick one superhero, he could be it would be Spider-man.
Tate’s favorite place to visit is the beach and his favorite place to eat is all you can eat crab leg buffet at the beach. However, his favorite food is Mexican.
“The Invincibles” is his favorite show.
If Tate had $10 million he would buy a house and a truck and save the rest.
A fun fact about Tate is he collects sports cards.
Tate would like to give a shoutout to his mom, dad and all his family and friends.
#84 Joey Michael Robinson, nicknamed Joebob
Joey Robinson lives in Tomahawk and has played football for 13 years. He plays tight end and defensive end for the Martin County Cardinals.
Some of Joey’s favorite things to do are hunting and fishing.
One of Joey’s pregame rituals is to listen to music in the locker room.
Joey’s plans after school are to expand his business and become a lineman. Joey sees himself enjoying life with his family in 20 years.
Joey loves Malones and his favorite food is steak.
The beach is Joey’s favorite place to visit. His favorite movie is “Friday Night Lights.”
If Joey had to pick one superhero character, he would pick Spider-Man.
A fun fact about Joey is that he owns his own business at the age of 18.
If Joey had $10 million, he would invest it for the future.
Joey would like to give a shoutout to his family for always pushing him to be the best he can be.
#24 Madden Miller
Senior Madden Miller lives in Inez and has played football for nine years. He plays running back and linebacker for the Martin County Cardinals. His hometown is Washington Court House, Ohio.
Some of Madden’s favorite things are playing the piano and lifting weights.
Madden is also a member of the Martin County Wrestling Team. He has been named First-Team All-District twice and is a two-time state qualifier.
Madden doesn’t want to let opposing teams know his pregame ritual.
Madden’s plans after high school are to attend college and play football. He hopes to get a degree in music and sees himself producing music and having a family in 20 years.
He loves Buffalo Wild Wings and his favorite food is steak.
If Madden had to pick one superhero character, he would pick Spider-Man.
A fun fact about Madden is that he played the piano for seven years and likes creating songs.
If Madden had $10 million, he would give his parents $4 million, his brothers $1 million each and invest the rest.
Madden would like to give a shoutout to Jesus Christ for always guiding him in the right direction, his parents for always being there through thick and thin and providing for him, his brothers for having his back no matter what, his beautiful girlfriend who would do anything for him, and his family and coaches who have pushed him to be the person he is.
#63 Noah Mollette, nicknamed Norah
Noah lives in Pilgrim and has played football for four years. He plays left offensive tackle for the Martin County Cardinals Football Team.
Noah’s favorite thing is spending time with his family and girlfriend. Noah was named all-district and honorable mention.
Noah is also a member of the cornhole club.
Pregame rituals for Noah include praying and listening to music.
Noah plans to play football after high school and sees himself doing something in football 20 years from now.
He loves Mexican food and his favorite food is tacos.
Noah’s favorite place to visit is the beach.
His favorite show is “Gridiron Gang.”
If Noah had to pick one superhero character, he would be the Hulk.
A fun fact about Noah is that he is 6’5” tall.
If he had $10 million, he would buy a house and cars and save the rest.
Noah would like to give a shoutout to his parents, siblings, girlfriend and God.
#7 Rafe Price, nicknamed Moses
Rafe’s hometown is Paintsville and he has played football for four years. He plays defensive end for the Martin County Cardinals.
Some of Rafe’s favorite things to do is weightlifting and molding cars.
Rafe is also a member of the Martin County Wrestling team. He is a two-time semi-state wrestling qualifier.
One of Rafe’s pregame rituals is going silent and listening to music to get in the zone.
Rafe’s plans after high school are to become a personal trainer. He sees himself owning businesses and being self-sufficient 20 years from now.
He loves spaghetti and his favorite place to eat is Moe’s Grill.
Rafe’s favorite place to be is anywhere with his family. His favorite show is “Rick n Morty.”
If Rafe had to pick one superhero character, he would pick Hancock.
A fun fact about Rafe is that his favorite food was broccoli at just 5 years old.
If he had $10 million, Rafe would buy real estate.
Rafe would like to give a shoutout to his mom and stepdad for always supporting him in whatever he does and having his back, his family, coaches and everyone else who has pushed him to be the person he is.
#53 Bryston Wells, nicknamed the Beast
Bryston’s hometown is Tomahawak and he has played football for 13 years. He plays on the offensive and defensive line for the Martin County Cardinals.
His hobbies include playing the guitar and listening to music.
Bryston is also a Martin County Wrestling Team member and has been All-District for four years.
His pregame ritual is to listen to music and think about dominating the team to come.
Bryston plans on attending college and playing football at the next level after graduation. He hopes to own a business and live simply 20 years from now.
His favorite food is pizza and he loves to eat at Olive Garden.
He loves to visit Florida.
A fun fact about Bryston is that he has worked several jobs all through high school.
If he had to pick one superhero, he would choose the Hulk.
Bryston’s favorite movie is “Overtime” and “Friday Night Lights.”
If Bryston had $10 million he would buy his parents a home in Florida.
Bryston would like to give a shoutout to his parents for showing him how to be a man and his brother for motivating him to be a better example every day.
#77 Timothy Horn, nicknamed Timmy
Timmy lives in Inez and he has played football since third grade. He plays offensive and defensive lineman for the Martin County Cardinals.
Some of his favorite hobbies are gaming, fishing and hunting.
Timmy is also a member of the Martin County Wrestling Team and the cornhole club.
A pregame ritual for Timmy is listening to music and tuning everyone out.
Timmy’s favorite place to eat is Bob Evans and his favorite food is steak.
Timmy’s favorite place to be is at home.
He hopes to one day design video games.
A fun fact about Timmy is that he is 6’ 7” tall.
His favorite show is “Avengers Infinity War.”
If he could be a superhero, he would pick the Hulk.
If he has $10 million he would give back to the community.
Timmy would like to give a shoutout to his mom and dad for always being there for him.
Senior Jacob Gauze
Jacob Gauze lives in Inez and will be a newcomer this season. He joins the Martin County Cardinals as a safety.
His hobbies include working out with friends.
Jacob also plays basketball.
Jacob’s favorite place to eat is Outback and his favorite food is spaghetti.
The Smokey Mountains is Jacob’s favorite to visit.
Upon graduation Jacob wants to join the military.
A fun fact about Jacob is that he loves to hang out with his friends and family.
His favorite movie is “Fast and Furious.”
If he could choose to be one superhero, it would be Spider-Man.
If Jacob had $10 million, he would buy a lot of truck parts.
