Daytime closure scheduled for Rockhouse Road in Martin County

MARTIN COUNTY — The Kentucky Department of Transportation has issued an advisory informing drivers of a planned daytime closure of KY 1224 Rockhouse Road near Lower Wolf Branch in Martin County. The closure is slated for a cross-drain replacement operation Saturday, July 29.

The work site is located at mile-point 4.7 on Rockhouse Road, approximately 0.46 miles east of KY 40.

Roadwork is set to begin at 8 a.m. and is expected to be completed by 3 p.m. the same day.

The operation will involve the removal of a section of KY 1224 Rockhouse Road to allow for the installation of the new cross-drain. Crews will then backfill and patch the road.

The road will remain closed until the material settles and the concrete patchwork dries. Once this process is complete, the road will be reopened to motorists.

Drivers will need to use an alternate route. The KYTC urges motorists to pay close attention to signage in the area. KYTC will perform the work. Schedules are subject to change based on weather conditions.
