Six Martin County residents make honors lists at EKU

RICHMOND — Six Martin County residents made the dean’s list at Eastern Kentucky University for Spring 2023, while three students received the president’s award.

Abbie Grace Clark of Inez, Bobby E. Hale of Pilgrim, Lindsy Marcum of Inez, Gracie Lenee Presley of Lovely, Sabrina Nicole Sites of Tomahawk and Anthony Thomas Spence of Beauty achieved dean’s list honors.

Marcum, Presley and Sites received the president’s award.

To achieve dean’s list honors, students attempting 12 credit hours must earn a 3.75 GPA, students attempting 13 credit hours must earn a 3.65 GPA, and students attempting 14 or more credit hours must earn a 3.5 GPA. All grade point averages are out of a possible 4.0.

The president’s award was established to recognize outstanding academic achievement, bestowed upon full-time undergraduate students with a 4.0 GPA for the semester.

Marcum is majoring in elementary education, Presley is majoring in psychology and Sites is studying criminal justice. Clark is a finance major, Hale is majoring in pre-occupational science and Spence is studying cyber systems technology.
