John Clifton McGinnis

1944—2023

John Clifton McGinnis, age 78, of Louisa, passed away July 15, 2023, in Grayson.

Born Dec. 26, 1944, in Debord, he was the son of the late James and Judy McGinnis. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Linda Parsley McGinnis, one brother, Stanley McGinnis and one sister, Phyllis McCoy.

He is survived by one son, Jeff (Tammy) McGinnis of Louisa; three brothers, Darwin (Opal) McGinnis of Tomahawk, Jamie (Kim) McGinnis of Lowmansville and Irwin Harley (Joyce) McGinnis of Inez; and two sisters, Lynn (Melvin) Bowen of Tennessee and Fran (Blaine T.) Stepp of Inez. He is also survived by one grandchild, Jordan (Briana) McGinnis of Mount Sterling, two great-grandchildren, Hunter Blake McGinnis and Colton Bradley McGinnis, and a host of nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were conducted Monday, July 17, 2023, in the chapel of Crum Funeral Home, with Phillip Kirk officiating. Burial was at the Riverview Memorial Garden in Louisa, under the direction of the Crum Funeral Home of Inez.
