DELBARTON, W.Va. — Longtime Martin County, Kentucky, residents John and Judy Taylor recently celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary at the Carewood Center in Delbarton, West Virginia.

They were married June 30, 1973, when Judy was only 17 and John was 18. The couple met when she was working as a car hop at Dorothy’s Drive-In in Stepptown, West Virginia.

They have two children, Wes and Misty Taylor of Martin County and Kimberly and Brandon Brooks of Rural Retreat, Virginia; eight grandchildren, Zack, Keaton, Gavin, Gage, Kaleb, Molly, Haley and Kenzi; and three great-grandchildren, Leighton, Harley and Kason.

John, the assistant pastor at Nolan Street Church in Nolan, West Virginia, and Judy have always put God first in their lives. They attribute God’s love and grace as the foundation for their long and happy marriage.

The couple would like to thank everyone who came to help them celebrate their Golden Anniversary and all their family for the beautiful decorations, delicious food and loving tributes. There were approximately 100 friends and family who attended the event.

“They gave us a night to remember and we love them all,” the couple said.
