INEZ — Martin County Sheriff John Kirk’s Office reported the following arrests:

Joey Taylor, 43, of Crum, West Virginia, was arrested Sunday at Zip Zone in Lovely for operating on a suspended or revoked operator’s license, operating a motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol, and first-degree fleeing or evading police (motor vehicle). Deputy J.C. Kirk reported Taylor made an illegal U-turn on KY-292 to avoid a traffic safety checkpoint. The deputy pulled him over at Lovely Zip Zone.

Earnest Maynard, 52, of Beauty, was arrested Saturday on Marcum Hollow in Beauty on three bench warrants for court. Deputy J.C. Kirk made the arrest.

Joseph Clayton Vanhoose, 38, of Inez, was arrested Friday on KY-40 in Inez for fourth-degree assault, domestic violence causing minor injury and second-degree strangulation.
Deputy David Adams was dispatched on a possible domestic after a female allegedly went into a local restaurant stating Vanhoose was beating her. According to the police report, officers observed fresh bruising on the alleged victim’s neck and ear.

Jordan A. Delong, 19, of Debord, was arrested Thursday on Dingess Road, Warfield, on a complaint warrant charging him with first-degree fleeing or evading police (motor vehicle), second-degree wanton endangerment (police officer), and first-degree wanton endangerment. Deputy David Adams made the arrest.

Melanie Harmon, 45, of Inez, was arrested June 27 on Coldwater Road in Inez for operating a motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol/substance.
Sheriff Kirk reported Harmon was involved in a two-vehicle accident “where she ran a stop sign.” The sheriff noted Harmon had slurred speech and was unsteady on her feet when he arrived at the scene. He said she failed a field sobriety test.

Joann James, 28, of Prestonsburg, was arrested Thursday at the Big Sandy Regional Detention Center on a warrant for receiving stolen property. Chief Deputy Chris Kidd served the warrant.

Darin Conley, 36, of Booneville, was arrested Thursday at the Big Sandy Regional Detention Center on a warrant charging him with receiving stolen property $1,000 < $10,000. Kidd served the warrant. Conley was being held at the jail following his arrest June 5, awaiting a fugitive from another state warrant.

Shaun Rose, 44, of Louisa, was arrested Thursday at Horn’s Fuel Stop in Tomahawk for operating a motor vehicle under the influence of controlled substance. Deputy Kidd was dispatched to assist Sheriff Kirk. Kidd reported Rose failed a field sobriety test. The suspect allegedly told the officers he used suboxone and “smoked meth last night.”
