Cracked windshield leads to drug-related arrest

INEZ — A 31-year-old Inez man went to jail on drug-related charges after police stopped him for having a cracked windshield.

Martin County Chief Deputy Sheriff Chris Kidd observed the broken windshield and pulled over Kenneth Rose on Blacklog Road, Inez, June 27.

According to the police report, Kidd noticed a Dr Pepper can in the center console of Rose’s vehicle. The can had an orange substance melted on the bottom, which Rose allegedly identified as suboxone. The deputy also discovered a case in the back seat of Rose’s vehicle containing a syringe and a glass pipe.

Kidd charged Rose with third-degree possession of a controlled substance, obstructed vision and/or windshield, and buying or possessing drug paraphernalia.
