INEZ — Martin County Sheriff John Kirk’s Office reported the following arrests:
Kenneth A. Rose, 31, of Inez, was arrested Tuesday for possession of a controlled substance, obstructed vision and/or windshield, and buy or possession of drug paraphernalia.
Harold Johnson, 71, of Tomahawk, was arrested Tuesday for operating a motor vehicle under the influence of controlled substance and no registration receipt.
Timothy Carter, 33, of Warfield, was arrested Sunday at Dempsey Housing for alcohol intoxication in a public place.
Deputy Jonathan Holbrook was dispatched to Dempsey on a loud noise complaint. Upon arrival, the deputy found Carter outside “being loud.” He noted Carter had an odor of alcoholic beverage coming from him and was stumbling. According to the police report, Carter told the officer that he took 8-9 shots of clear alcohol.
Johnathan Fletcher, 31, of Kermit, West Virginia, was arrested Saturday on Route 292, Lovely, for possession of a controlled substance (drug unspecified), buy or possession of drug paraphernalia, trafficking in marijuana (less than 8 ounces) and resisting arrest.
Deputy Holbrook reported that deputies encountered Fletcher at a traffic checkpoint and smelled marijuana coming from the car. Fletcher allegedly admitted he was smoking and handed the officers a bag of marijuana. Officers asked him to step out of the car, then found two suboxone strips in his wallet. According to the police report, law enforcement found scales, bags, $627 cash and a grinder inside the vehicle. Holbrook reported that at one point, Fletcher took off running to his car to take a hit off his vape. Fletcher reportedly refused to comply with commands.
Stephen Hammond, 29, of Inez, was arrested Friday for contempt of court libel/slander resistance to order.
James Tyler Harmon, 30, of Warfield, was arrested Friday at the intersection of KY-292 and Fire House Lane in Warfield on two warrants for court. Deputy J.C. Kirk made the arrest.
Beverly Lester, 36, of Phelps, was arrested Thursday on Buck Creek Mountain, Inez, on a bench warrant out of Pike County. Chief Deputy Chris Kidd made the arrest.
