Camp counselor arrested for first-degree sexual abuse

GRAYSON — An 18-year-old camp counselor faces a first-degree sexual abuse charge following his arrest at Camp Robert Webb.

Kentucky State Police Post 14 responded to the campsite in Grayson shortly after midday June 21 to investigate a report of sexual abuse. Upon arrival, the trooper on duty interviewed the juvenile victim and obtained an official statement.

Subsequently, the trooper engaged in a dialogue with the accused, Mason Rodgers of Carter County, who was working as a camp counselor at the time of the alleged incident. According to police reports, Rodgers, no longer employed at the camp, admitted to the accusations against him, leading to his immediate arrest.

Police transported Rodgers to the Carter County Detention Center.

The case remains an active investigation under the supervision of Trooper William Galloway.
