Raymond May
1943—2023

Raymond May, 80, of Kermit, West Virginia, went home to be with the Lord Wednesday, June 7, 2023, at St. Mary’s Medical Center in Huntington.

He was born Jan. 7, 1943, in Mingo County to the late Margarette and Hubert May. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy “Dottie” May; stepson, David Lee Blevins; brothers, Ralph, Richard and David May; and sisters, Thelma and Leola.

Raymond is survived by his children, Greg (Connie) May, Sheila (Dallas) Stacy, Toby Blevins and Natalie Blevins; grandchildren, Derek Messer, Lourae Stacy, Ryan May, Chris Stacy and Isiah Fish; and siblings, Loretta Vance, Robert May and Earnestine Ward. He is also survived by his caregiver, Robin May, her brother, Cletus Blackburn, and a very special friend, Frank Brumfield, whom he depended on a lot.

Funeral services were conducted Sunday, June 11, 2023, at the Neely Branch United Baptist Church, with Russell Ball officiating. Burial was at the May Cemetery in Kermit, under the direction of the Callaham Funeral Home, Inez.
