Lowmansville man indicted on firearms, marijuana charges in Martin County

INEZ — Matthew R. Gooslin, a 41-year-old resident of Lowmansville, is facing multiple charges, including one felony and three misdemeanors, following his indictment in Martin County.

The indictment, issued June 9, accuses Gooslin of possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, improper registration plate, possession of marijuana, and giving false identifying information to a law enforcement officer.

The indictment accuses Gooslin, a convicted felon, of having a 12-gauge shotgun May 27. Possession of a firearm by a convicted felon is classified as a Class D felony under Kentucky law.

In addition to the firearms charge, the indictment accuses Gooslin of operating a motor vehicle on Kentucky roadways without the required registration plate affixed, possessing marijuana, and providing false identification to a police officer.

Gooslin’s court arraignment is July 6.
