OLIVE HILL — As part of Inez Elementary School’s 21st Century Summer Program, students embarked on an exciting field trip to Carter Caves Friday. Led by program director Lois Cassady, the students had the opportunity to explore the captivating Cascade Cave and enjoy a delicious meal at Golden Corral in Ashland.
The excursion was a resounding success, with students marveling at the natural wonders within Cascade Cave, which is noted for its large chambers and many beautiful formations.
The trip provided an educational experience and ignited students’ curiosity about the world around them.
The 21st Century Summer Program, designed to provide enriching experiences for students during their summer break, runs Monday through Friday, starting at 8 a.m. and concluding at 2 p.m. The program is set to conclude June 23, offering students several more weeks of engaging activities and learning opportunities.
One of the standout features of the program is its commitment to inclusivity and accessibility. Bus transportation is available for students who require it, ensuring that all participants can attend the program. Moreover, all activities and excursions are completely free for IES students.
