Martin County Arrest Report

INEZ — Martin County Sheriff John Kirk’s Office reported the following arrests:

Matthew Gooslin

Matthew Gooslin, 41, of Lowmansville, was arrested Sunday for possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, possession of marijuana, giving officer false identifying information, probation violation for a felony offense, probation violation for a felony offense, operating on suspended or revoked operator’s license, failure of owner to maintain required insurance, no registration receipt, no registration plates, and improper registration plate. Adams made the arrest.

Kody Harless

Kody Harless, 24, of Tomahawk, was arrested Sunday for probation violation for a felony offense and fugitive from another state warrant. Adams made the arrest.

Jackie B. Haney

Jackie B. Haney, 28, of Inez, was arrested Friday on Moore Branch Road, Inez, for second-degree criminal trespassing. Dispatch received two complaints saying Haney was trespassing at a residence on Moore Branch breaking his grandmother’s things. When deputies arrived on the first complaint, the homeowner stated Haney had run out the back door. Deputy David Adams was dispatched on the second complaint and found Haney sitting in a recliner.

Jonathan E. Mollett

Jonathan E. Mollett, 35, of Louisa, was arrested Thursday at 7950 Rockcastle Road, Inez, for endangering the welfare of a minor, receiving stolen property $1,000-10,000, first-degree possession of methamphetamine, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, drug paraphernalia-buy/possession, third-degree possession of controlled substance (drug unspecified), and receiving stolen property $10,000 or more.

Police executed a search warrant on Mollett’s camper and located a Rossi 22 Rifle, a crystal substance believed to be methamphetamine, round orange pills, round white pills, digital scales, clear bags, a meth pipe, and a straw with residue. A 5-year-old child was in the camper and within 10 feet of these items.

Mollett also traded a stolen dozer winch for a torch. Mollett stated he knew the winch had been stolen. 

Jennifer E. Miller

Jennifer E. Miller, 39, of Louisa, was arrested Thursday on Rockcastle Road, Inez, for endangering the welfare of a minor. While executing a search warrant at 7950 Rockcastle Road, police found Miller present with her 5-year-old son in a small camper. In the immediate reach of the child was a loaded .22 long rifle. Police also found, in plain view and within reach of the child, two bags of suspected methamphetamine and a glass pipe used to smoke the meth. DSS was contacted the child was placed in protective custody at the scene. Miller was arrested and transported to the booking room without incident. Chief Deputy Chris Kidd made the arrest.

Sarah Carter/Booth, 36, of Inez, was arrested May 24 at Horn’s BP in Tomahawk on a bench warrant. Kidd made the arrest.

Christopher Marcum

Christopher Marcum, 48, of Tomahawk, was arrested May 24 at Horn’s BP in Tomahawk for operating on a suspended or revoked license, no insurance and no registration. Kidd made the arrest.

Brandon Mullett

Brandon Mullett, 18, of Inez, was arrested May 24 at the intersection of Routes 645 and 40 in Inez for public intoxication and possession of marijuana. Mullett was a passenger in a vehicle on a traffic stop. Deputy Kidd reported he had glassy, bloodshot eyes and slurred speech. The truck’s owner consented to a search of the vehicle and Mullett submitted to a patdown of his person. The officer found two small “marijuana joints with resin” in Mullett’s pocket. According to the police report, Mullett stated he smoked them after he woke up that day.

Carlos D. Barton

Carlos D. Barton, 38, of Tomahawk, was arrested May 23 on Trace Road in Tomahawk on warrants out of Johnson County for flagrant nonsupport. He was also charged with no registration plates, failure of non-owner operator to maintain required insurance, operating on suspended or revoked operator’s license and failure to wear seat belts. Holbrook made the arrest.
