INEZ — Evans Hardware, a trusted establishment located at 631 East Main Street in Inez, proudly commemorates three decades of providing essential services to the community.

Since its acquisition by owner Donnie Evans from his brother, Jerry, in 1993, the store has become a cornerstone of the area.

Donnie Evans was already intimately familiar with the business, having previously assisted his brother during the ‘70s and ‘80s. Following a brief hiatus, he purchased the store, ensuring its continuity and commitment to the community.

“We are a family business. I’ve always said that,” remarked Evans, highlighting the store’s deep-rooted values.

Evans Hardware has built its reputation on the motto, “If you come in with a problem, we try to fix it.”

Embracing their identity as a reliable establishment, Evans described it as a “working man’s store” that prioritizes practicality over flashy appearances.

“We’re not bright and shiny,” said Evans. “We’re just hard-working folks.”

Customers can find an extensive range of products at Evans Hardware, catering to diverse needs. From building materials and lumber to appliances and pool and gardening supplies, including plants, flowers, hanging baskets, mulch and ferns, the store has everything one may need.

Customers can find all things hardware plus mining boots, durable solid wood oak cabinets, interior and exterior doors, heaters and air conditioners.

Evans looks forward to continuing the tradition of serving the community for years to come. He announced the store recently expanded its offerings to include a rental department, which stocks hand tools, tillers and other gardening essentials. The store is also excited to announce it refills propane tanks.

Evans attributes the success of his business to his dedicated team of employees, whose hard work has been instrumental in its growth. The committed staff members include Mike Sweeney, Evan Seagraves, Corbin Mann, Sherrie Mann, Phelicia Evans, Hansel Harless and Vic Kavelish.
