Carol Lynn Davis (Evans)

1953—2023

Carol Lynn Evans Sturgell Davis, 69, lost her courageous battle with cancer May 13, 2023, surrounded by her family at her home in Stepptown, West Virginia.

Carol was born Oct. 13, 1953, in Williamson, West Virginia, to the late Jack and Ida Mae Evans.

She devoted her life to caring for her family as a mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. If she claimed you as a friend, she was loyal to that claim. She had a passion for shopping, dining out and family vacations.

Carol leaves behind many loved ones, including Charles Sturgell, her first love and the father of her three children, Angela (Carter), Charlene (Brian) and Charlie (Kim), as well as Joe and Sam, her two bonus sons. Carol’s grandchildren are Whitney, Rhayna, Caleb, Tori, Sara and Jake. Her great-grandchildren are Gunner, Klair, Grady, Ali, Karrington, Kaine, Raelynn and Waylon (who will join the family soon).

Her surviving siblings include her sister, Tammy, and brothers, Lonnie, Jack Michael, and Tim. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews whom she loved dearly.

The family would like to thank the countless other remarkable persons who have impacted Carol’s life.

Funeral services were conducted Tuesday, May 16, 2023, with her brother, Lonnie Evans, officiating. Burial was in the Sturgell Cemetery on Silver Creek Road, Crum. Mullins Family Funeral Home is honored to serve the family.
