INEZ — It is PRIDE Spring Cleanup season and Martin County District 1 Magistrate Cody Slone invites everyone to come out Saturday, May 13 to help make roadsides look their best.

The event, sponsored by the Martin County Fiscal Court, will start at 10 a.m. and run until 3 p.m. in the Inez area.

“We want to focus on doing our part in District 1 to clean up the community and county,” Slone said. “With everyone’s help we can make a difference.”

Volunteers should plan to meet at 10 a.m. at the shelter behind the Martin County Courthouse.

Organizers will hand out equipment before breaking into teams and departing to separate locations for roadside litter pickup. Slone said the size of the volunteer pool will determine how much and which areas the cleanup can cover.

Refreshments will be provided throughout the day.

To wrap up the event, volunteers will meet for pizza at 3 p.m. at the shelter behind the courthouse.

Slone urges everyone to bring their groups, organizations, churches, clubs and teams.

“Dress appropriately for working outdoors and wear sturdy shoes,” said Slone. “We look forward to seeing you.”

In case of inclement weather, the event will be postponed until Saturday, May 20.
