INEZ — Martin County Sheriff John Kirk’s office reported the following arrests:
Megan Maynard, 25, of Tomahawk, was arrested Saturday in Tomahawk for fourth-degree assault (domestic violence) no visible injury).
Deputy Adams received a complaint from dispatch about a domestic at a residence on David Road in Tomahawk. When the deputy arrived at the scene, Maynard allegedly advised him that Fred Daniels “would not move his feet so she could sit down to get service on her phone” and had hit her with a bucket for no reason.
According to Adams, Daniels stated Maynard hit him with a boot, so he hit her with a bucket.
Maynard denied hitting Daniels with a boot but said she jumped on him because he would not move his feet, the police report said.
Adams noted that Daniels had a skinned-up place on his nose, which Daniels allegedly claimed was from the boot and Maynard claimed was from a “blackhead.”
Fred Daniels Jr., 30, of Tomahawk, was arrested Saturday in Tomahawk for fourth-degree assault (domestic violence) no visible injury.
Deputy Adams investigated a domestic violence complaint at a residence on David Road in Tomahawk. According to the police report, Daniels advised the officer that Megan Maynard got mad at him because he would not move his feet. Daniels allegedly said Maynard hit him with a boot, so he hit her with a bucket.
John Stevens, 42, of Lovely, was arrested Friday in Lovely on a bench warrant for court. Adams made the arrest.
Randall Bowen, 29, of Louisa, was arrested Friday in Inez on two bench warrants. Kidd made the arrest.
George Dalton, 25, of Inez, was arrested Friday in Inez for operating on a suspended or revoked license and first-degree possession of a controlled substance (methamphetamine).
Deputy Kidd reported that Dalton passed by him on Turkey Creek Road and was not wearing a seat belt. The deputy said Dalton crossed the center line three times before the officer initiated a traffic stop at Evans Hardware.
“Subject advised his operator’s license was suspended,” Kidd reported. “Subject also advised before open-air search with K9 that ‘meth’ was in the center console by the gear shift.”
Law enforcement seized a bag containing a crystal-like substance from the console.
Henry Langdon, 38, of Birmingham, Alabama, was arrested Friday in Inez on a bench warrant. Kidd made the arrest.
Brian Lee Gantt, 36, of Louisa, was arrested April 18 at the football field in Inez for second-degree criminal trespassing and a bench warrant.
Deputy Adams responded to a call about a male attempting to break into the concession stand at the football field on Blacklog Road in Inez. The officer said he could not locate anyone when he arrived at the field.
“I got with the school staff, who had a video of a male dressed in a green and black hoodie,” Adams said. “In the video it appeared the male had come out of the locker room.”
Adams searched the locker room and found Gantt lying on the couch in the coach’s room, wearing the same hoodie as in the video.
The deputy said Gantt had two book bags, one containing three students’ sports physical forms with their personal information. School staff advised the deputy those forms had been kept in a filing cabinet in the coach’s office.
