Lois June (Kirk) Mills

1943—2023

Lois June (Kirk) (Carter) Mills, 79, went to be reunited with her daughters, Tonetta Nichols and Mary Elizabeth Kolb, and her Lord and Savior on Saturday, April 22, 2023.

She was born June 1, 1943, to the late Everett and Mary (Maynard) Kirk of Lovely. In addition to her parents and daughters, she was preceded in death by her husbands, Homer Carter and Roger Mills; daughters-in-law, Tammy Jude and Rhonda Maynard; step-son, Adam Mills; and two brothers, Harlen Ray (Esta) Kirk and Arthur (Louise) Kirk.

Lois is survived by her children, Gary (Ruth) Kirk of Kermit, West Virginia, Bobby (Bonnie) Carter, Jerry Carter and Johnny Carter, all of Warfield, Henry (Gloria) Carter of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, and Jeff Mills of Inez; sons-in-law, Bobby Nichols and Russell Kolb; 20 grandchildren, Nicole Turner, Jeff Kirk, Kayla Kirk, Devon Kirk, Timmy Carter, Ashley Carter, Darrell Jude, Candace Jude, Katelyn Kolb, John Russell Kolb, Jerry Douglas Carter, Brittany Sims, Laura Kolb, Amanda Jude, Brandon Carter, Kendra Carter, Tierra Noel, Kelsey McCoy, Adam Mills and Courtney Smith; and 51 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by three brothers, Wilburn (Darla) Kirk of Lovely, Everett (Bookie) Kirk of Riverton, Florida, and Mike (Sharon) Kirk of Inez; three sisters, Juanita (Cricket) Muncy of Warfield, Nancy (Noah) Dillon of Lovely and Pat (Harlen) Marcum of Inez; and a host of friends that she loved dearly.

Funeral services were conducted Monday, April 24, 2023, at the Lovely Freewill Baptist Church with Lonnie Smith and Herman Stacy officiating. Burial was at the Kirk Family Cemetery in Lovely under the direction of the Callaham Funeral Home, Inez.
