Martin County announces 2023 District Spelling Bee winners

Martin County District Spelling Bee top 5 winners with Schools Superintendent Larry James.

INEZ — The 2023 Martin County School District Spelling Bee was Thursday in the Martin County High School auditorium.

Spelling Bee first-place winner Drake Bowen – Martin County Middle School grade 8.

Drake Bowen, an eighth-grader at Martin County Middle School, won first place.

Second- Morgan Allen- Inez Elementary School grade 6.

Inez Elementary sixth-grader Morgan Allen finished in the runner-up spot.

Third- Landon Hager- Martin County Middle School grade 7.

Landon Hager, a seventh-grade Martin County Middle School student, won third place.

Fourth- Gabriel Bevins – Inez Elementary School grade 5.

Gabriel Bevins, Inez Elementary fifth-grader, took fourth.

Fifth- Emma Fletcher- Inez Elementary School grade 5.

Emma Fletcher, Inez fifth-grader, rounded out the top five with fifth place.
