Daniel Alley 

1954—2023

Daniel Alley, 68, of Ft. Gay, West Virginia, formerly of Hode, Kentucky, passed away March 30, 2023, at the U of L Hospital in Louisville.

He was born Aug. 21, 1954, in Paintsville, the son of the late Garfield and Josephine Waller Alley.

He was a retired coal miner for Wolf Creek Collieries Coal Company.

Daniel is preceded in death by his spouse, Debbie Spaulding Alley, and siblings Allen Alley, Mikey Alley, Lee Alley, Bertha Alley, Frank Alley, Virginia Stepp, Vernie Mae Alley and George Alley.

Daniel is survived by his children, Paul Daniel (PD) Alley of Ft. Gay and Natasha Sue Alley of Jennies Creek, West Virginia, and grandchildren, E.J. Spurlock and Kassadee Lynn Alley. He is also survived by his siblings, Lizzie Osborne, Alonzo Alley, Tivis Alley, Tish Osborne, Hannah Simpkins, Ardelia Spence, Lloyd Alley, Helen Bowen, Alice Mollett, Tennessee Alley, Eugene Alley, David Alley, Eli Alley and Lucy Osborne, and a host of nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were conducted Tuesday, April 4, 2023, at the Mullins Family Funeral Home, Warfield, with Ellis Maynard officiating. Burial was at the Alley Cemetery in Hode. Mullins Family Funeral Home is honored to serve the family.
