Maynard dominates Spatola Classic, Muncy finishes third

CINCINNATI — Martin County Youth Wrestling’s Parker Maynard continued his domination on the mat Saturday in the Spatola Classic in Cincinnati, claiming the championship medal in the middle school 130-137 division. The Elite Athletic Center in Cincinnati.

Teammate Nolan Muncy brought home a hard-fought third-place medal in the youth 10U 118-124 division.

Jacob Stafford wrestled tough in the high school 138 division and, according to Coach Josh Muncy, did everything necessary to continue improving.

Maynard pinned Dylan Hobbs of No-Ox Wrestling Club in 1:50 to claim the championship. The eighth grader won by fall in 50 seconds over Landon Spencer of Rhyno Academy in the quarterfinal, defeated Michael Combs of Xenia Gladiator 9-0 in the semifinal and beat Romeo Bartolomei of Team Opossum Catcher 8-0 in the opening round.

Muncy pinned Warhawk Wrestling’s Nathaniel Strayer in 2:30 in his final round, beat Grayson Delaney of HWC 1-0 and lost a pair to Charlie Maini of Cincinnati Elite and Braxton Brown (Unattached).
