Perlie Messer

1940—2023

Perlie Messer, 83, of Kermit, W.Va., passed away Tuesday, March 21, 2023 at Three Rivers Medical Center in Louisa, Ky.

Born Feb. 4, 1940 in Williamson, he was the son of the late Freelin and Mary Kirk Messer. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his daughter, Linda Gail Messer; brothers, Kenny, Lonnie, Curtis, Gene, Russell, Jesse and Bill Messer; and sisters, Sara Belle Messer, Brookie Dalton and Diane Messer.

Perlie was a sawmill worker.

Perlie is survived by his sons, Paul Allen Messer and Jr. Messer of Stepptown, W.Va.; brother, Don Messer of Kermit, W.Va.; Maryssa Salmons and Samuel Dallas, who he claimed as his own children; nephews, Glen Ray Messer, Lincoln (Debra) Bragg and Jessica (Sam) Salmons; and numerous other nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were conducted Friday, March 24, 2023 at the Mullins Family Funeral Home in Warfield with Glen Messer officiating. Burial was in the Messer Cemetery on Messer Hollow. Mullins Family Funeral Home is honored to serve the family.
