LEXINGTON — An Inez Elementary student recently won the Bluegrass Winter Slam Tennis Tournament 10-and-under division in Lexington.

Blaine Williams, a third grader, defeated Arthur Young of Lexington 5-4 (11-9 tiebreaker), 2-4, 7-1 (tiebreaker) in the finals to bring home the gold for Martin County.

This was Williams’ second tennis tournament championship this year as he won the Louisville New Year’s Classic championship, the first ever for a Martin County student in a state-sanctioned tennis tournament.
