Hello Cardinal Nation! This is Alexis Hale and Matthew Linville here to give you the latest news on what’s happening at Martin County High School. In this week’s news, we will discuss the JAG CDC competition and results, MCHS Athletics, and how one of our very own students participated in Miss Kentucky Teen USA!

MCHS Athletics has had three very big weeks in a row. The wrestling team had two of Martin County’s very own compete for the state title. The girls and boys basketball teams have both been in regional competition the past two weeks. The Lady Cards run for state was cut short against Pikeville, but their efforts were shown as they made it to the final four.

We’d like to give the boys basketball team a big congratulations for winning the 15th Region championship game. They will be competing for the state title March 16 at Rupp Arena in Lexington.

The MCHS baseball and softball seasons are beginning. The baseball team and softball team had their first games March 13. The baseball team faced off against Shelby Valley, and the softball team traveled to Russell.
