LOUISA – The Lawrence County Tourism Commission announced on Facebook Monday that the next Fred Session will be this Sunday, March 5 at 6 p.m. Luke Trimble and Laurah Louisa will each play a set, livestreamed to the Lawrence County Tourism Commission Facebook page Sunday night.

The Fred Sessions are a new concert series organized by LC Tourism meant to increase exposure for local artists and raise community awareness of the Fred M. Vinson Center in downtown Louisa.

“The Fred” as it is colloquially known is home to the Fred Sessions and the Lawrence County Tourism Commission.

The building housed Lawrence County’s first, which was owned and operated by the parents of Fred M. Vinson and served as his birthplace.

Fred M. Vinson is one of the only people in American history to hold a prominent position in all three branches of the federal government. He served in the House of Representatives from 1924 to 1929. Vinson was also appointed Secretary of the Treasury by President Harry S. Truman before being nominated by Truman to the Supreme Court, where he served at the 13th Supreme Court Chief Justice until his death in 1953.

Luke Trimble is a rising star from Paintsville, a practitioner of the new wave of east Kentucky bluegrass. Trimble released his debut EP “Nothing to Lose” at the end of last year, which was met with acclaim from local critics and fans.

Laurah Louisa is a new young artist with Louisa roots. She just released her debut single “September Nights.” Both artists can be found on streaming platforms and social media.

Sunday night’s episode of the Fred Sessions will be streamed live from the Lawrence County Tourism Commission Facebook page. Artists will perform to a private audience of friends and family, but the event will not be open to the public.

Videos of individual songs from the Fred Sessions will be posted to the Musical Moonshine YouTube page starting this week.
