Goldie (Evans) Dove
1933—2023
Goldie (Evans) Dove passed from this life Feb. 19, 2023, at the Pikeville Medical Center, following a brief illness.
Goldie was a God-loving person who wanted and prayed that her children would love the Lord as she did. She was a great cook and would cook for the sick in the family. She loved seeing her children and grandchildren coming to her home for the holidays. She will certainly be missed beyond measure.
Goldie is preceded in death by her husband, Lowell Dove Sr.; her youngest daughter, Kathy Dove; great-great-granddaughter, Krystal Hannah; parents, Wilson and Tish (Chafins) Evans; sisters, Gertie Bailey and Edna Fuggett; and brothers, Homer, Claude, Troy, Charles and Amos Evans.
Goldie leaves behind to mourn her passing: daughters, Alma (Mathias) Simpkins, Deborah (Noah) Hannah, Brenda Meade, Yvonne Reed, Dinah (James) Ferguson; one son, Lowell Jr. (Kimberly) Dove; 12 grandchildren, Matt Simpkins, Michael Simpkins, Karen Kennedy, Adam Hannah, Alma Meade, Bradley Meade, Brian Adkins, Dwayne Reed, Goldie Adkins, Jamie Jude, Lowell Dove III and Renae Wright; and 24 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by three siblings, Hazel Pethtel, Thelma Evans and Ray Evans.
Funeral services were conducted Friday, Feb. 24, 2023, at the Callaham Funeral Home in Inez, with Lowell Dove III officiating. Burial was at the Riverview Memorial Gardens in Louisa.
