William Benton Copley
1946—2023

William Benton Copley, 76, of Inez, Kentucky, passed away Monday, Feb. 13, 2023 at Three Rivers Medical Center in Louisa.

He was born Sept. 4, 1946 in Martin County to the late Kate Mills. In addition to his mother, he is preceded in death by his beloved grandmother, who raised him, Rhoda Mills Copley.

Benton was a talented musician; he played guitar, mandolin, fiddle and harmonica. Nothing gave Benton greater joy than to gather around with his friends to pick their guitars and sing. He was always willing to play for whoever would listen. He had a genuine love for music.
Benton is survived by his lifelong friends and distant relatives, who will miss him dearly.

Funeral services were conducted Friday, Feb. 17, 2023 at the Callaham Funeral Home in Inez, with Ray Patrick officiating. Burial was at the Mills-Crum Cemetery in Inez, under the direction of the Callaham Funeral Home, Inez.
